Alberto Paredes published a photo about the demonstration that took place in Puerta Del Sol, Madrid in mid-May. This was a massive manifest that spread all over Spain .Ten thousand Spaniards took over central squares in 60 cities, protesting against a unresponsible politicial class and also from discontent about the austerity measures.

Photographer Peter Pereira published an article in portuguese travel magazine "Volta ao Mundo", about the famous and renewed  Harlem neighborhood, New York. Peter  shows a new vision of this neighborhood, which has always  been home to a variety of ethnic groups,  the struggle for civil rights, Jazz music and Gospel. Crime has disappeared from the streets, buildings have been reshaped and it became a place for commerce, Art galleries and restaurants.

Peter Pereira published in "Noticías Sábado"





4SEE´s photographer Peter Pereira published a five-page article in Portuguese magazine "Noticías Sábado" in an article about Camden -  in the State of New Jersey-, that talks about the economic decay of this region due to economic recession and all  it´s  consequences in the local population - Unemployment, crime, drug trafficking and high dropout rate,  are just a few problems this community faces.

Photographer António Pedro Santos won  2nd prize in Photojournalism Award 2011 -  Category " Day Life ", given by Estação Imagem, a Portuguese Cultural Association  based in Mora , Alentejo. The series of photos entitled Camping - "Campismo ", represent a lifestyle often shared by many Portuguese - Camping, and how in our days the way to do it as change and became less simple and more sophisticaded .

 

Tiago Miranda 2nd Prize in Photojournalism Award by Estação Imagem

4SEE´s photographer, Tiago Miranda won a 2nd prize in Photojournalism Award 2011 -  Category " Portrait Series",   attributed by Portuguese Cultural Association  " Estação Imagem". Tiago´s serie of portraits is  about  a group of men and women, workers from Delphi - a major employer in the region of Guarda ( Northwest of Portugal), that  officially closed it´s doors in 31th December 2010, leaving hundreds unemployed.  Of the 312 employees remaining in the month of August 2010 , 72 agreed to be photographed and all pictures were published in one article. This set of portraits was made to "Expresso" newspaper".

Peter Pereira - Photographer of the Year 2010



4SEE´s Photographer Peter Pereira, won the award for Photographer of the Year 2010 by the NPPA - National Press Photographers Association - Region1, for the second time.
Recently he was also voted Photographer of the Year 2010 by the New England Newspaper Association and American Press.
He was named the New England Press Association - Photographer of the Year twice (’04 and ’07), and in 2006 was named the National Press Photographers Association Region 1 Photographer of the Year. He has also won five Publick Occurrences Awards (’04 –’08) for Superior Achievement in Photojournalism by the New England Newspaper Association.
